Stainless Steel Penstock
Penstocks are designed for flow isolation or diversion in Water & Wastewater applications. They are typically used in sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants including desalination, and sewage pump wells. Generally they are mounted on a wall or embedded in a channel. Standard materials are 316, 316L with energised UHMWPE side and top seals with Neoprene invert seal, however, Duplex or Super Duplex stainless steels and economical marine grade aluminium can also be provided.
Operation can be by manual, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic operation.
A new design is flat backed with sealing gasket and this eliminates the need for grouting.
