LH Series Stopgates
These are gates that are lifted directly by hand using lifting handles, or ladder type lifting devices in the case of segmented gates, or where a long reach is required. For gates of a mass that cannot be lifted by hand, lugs are welded to the top of the gates for removal by crane or other mechanical means.
Stop gates are suitable for heads no greater than the gate height and are usually used in channels to isolate penstocks or other equipment for service / repair work, or channel maintenance. They can also be designed to be face wall mounted.
Frames are usually embedded in block-outs in the side walls and floor but can be bolted to the channel walls and floor; or a combination of either embedded and bolted.
Frames are available in 316 stainless steel or marine grade aluminium. As the gates are usually stored and not fitted to the frames until required, marine grade aluminium is often preferred to 316ss as it is less expensive and easier to handle due to the reduction in weight.
Gates can be supplied in separate units (segmented) with intermediate seals for applications where the channel is deep or where a long width requires reduced weight.
